Key points

  • Mental health concerns everyone, at every age.

  • SISM offers accessible events centred on the arts.

  • If you are struggling, speaking with a professional is a first step.

Why discuss the arts and mental health?

The 2026 theme is “For our mental health, let us open ourselves to the arts”. It aims to create opportunities to talk, express ourselves and meet other people.

You do not need to be an artist to take an interest: an event, exhibition or conversation can be a starting point.

Questions you may have

Can an artistic activity replace care?

No. It can offer expression or connection, but does not replace medical or psychological care when needed.

I am not feeling well: who can I talk to?

You can start with your doctor or another healthcare professional you feel comfortable with. The practice can listen and help you find suitable support.

What happens after 18 October?

The campaign is time-limited, but resources remain available. You can keep finding information and asking for help throughout the year.
